JHU's Electronic Institutional Biosafety Committee (eIBC)

eIBC will be an an online biosafety registration and tracking system for the online registration of bio-hazardous material and rDNA. The system will be used by researchers, research coordinators, department staff, and IBC staff. Using an online form, the system must empower researchers to submit new registrations, annual renewal, and 3 year resubmissions. The system should allow researchers to view the status of their registrations and receive automatic notices for upcoming deadlines. The system will provide IBC staff with workflow tools that will allow them to effectively manage all aspects of the registration and renewal process, including running reports and communicating with researchers. The IBC is a university-wide service.

It is estimated that IBC will serve 1000 unique users and manage over 2500 registrations.
